It is the day 4 of the bakery workshop and the students are ready to take their learning to the higher level. It is the time to witness another savoury preparation in the workshop, i.e. Patty & Puff. While the demonstration is on the students posed several queries to the chef and they were answered quite convincingly to the students. The workshop seems to be very reassuring to the students in terms of acquiring new skills and knowledge which will go a long way in shaping the career of the students. Students are looking forward to acquiring new skills in the coming days of the workshop.

A new day and the stage is all set for learning new skills on the 3rd day of the bakery workshop. The learning has to be unabated and it must be taken to the higher domains and the same principle is being reinforced by the week-long workshop. It is the time to view the preparation of various kinds of cookies which primarily covers a variety of sweet & savoury ones. While the demonstration is on the students also get the opportunity to have hands-on experience on the task to acquire the actual skills of preparation. Learning through hands-on experience in the workshop is indeed fun and it also inculcates multiple other traits in the learners. The learning will be enhanced in the days to come as the bakery workshop will continue for a few more days.

Day-2

It was indeed a great learning experience for the students on day-1 of the bakery workshop. Now it is the second day of the workshop and it’s time for the students to witness new stuff in the lab. The stage was all set for the day’s preparation & demonstration & it was time to showcase preparation of Tart, which includes Lemon & Jam Tarts. Again the students participated very keenly in the workshop with the clear intent to acquire some new skills in the domain. The students learnt the skill of preparation & presentation of the tart in today’s workshop. Having attended the workshop the student’s feedback was overwhelming.

Women complement and supplement mankind.

Scholars suggest, women received respect and enjoyed equal status in all aspects of life. As far as gender discrimination goes, ancient India seemed to be more egalitarian and balanced than other societies. Women were educated, pursued fine arts, taught sacred scriptures, took part in social functions and religious rites, acted as priests, practised yoga, had the liberty to choose a spouse, given warfare training as well as relished numerous opportunities.  The galaxy of acclaimed women like  Ghosha,  Lopamudra, Sulabha, Romasha, Indrani, Maitreyi, Gargi were epitomes of intellectual and spiritual attainments.

Whereas, medieval India restricted the social environment of women. Their equality and freedom faded with the advent of Mughal and British rulers who abused and exploited women. Women abstained from public appearances.  Practices like child marriage and  Jauhar surged.

However, contemporary India is largely influenced by women's reform programmes that are to some extent based on Western liberal ideology, although the current scenario is not as bright as ancient past. Further to the point, domestic violence, gender selection, inequality, crime, resistance to empower and include women, poverty, illiteracy are tangible in spite of social reforms, etc. are in full swing to address the in hand challenges. 

Let us celebrate this day to thank women for their mesmerising work shining throughout the world. Unite with us to empower and include women in the mainstream.
